You have two options for installing Penguin Surge. If you are slightly less experienced with computers and prefer to be safe, you can download our program which can automatically edit a file on your computer for you to turn Penguin Surge on. The program could also be used by more experienced users due to the fact that there is simply an enable and disable button which is more efficient. If you are confident with computers and are capable of editing files correctly, follow the steps below. Before following any steps, or downloading anything, choose the correct operating system that you are running below.
WINDOWS
Follow the steps below.
Download the Penguin Surge Installer for Windows! Enable and disable Penguin Surge by the click of a button. Click here to download.
Make sure you have administrative access / privileges on the computer before attempting to modify your hosts file.
Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 & 10:
- Open Notepad as Administrator.
- Click File > Open in Notepad and navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc.
- Make sure the etc folder is selected and the file type is set to “All Files”. Now double click the “hosts” file to open it.
- Add “158.69.194.166 media1.clubpenguin.com” to the end of the hosts file.
- Save the file.
- Clear your cache and restart your browser to use the trainer.

MAC
Follow the steps below.
Make sure you have administrative access / privileges on the computer before attempting to modify your hosts file.
- Open Terminal.
- Type “sudo nano /etc/hosts” and press enter.
- If it asks for your password, enter it.
- Add “158.69.194.166 media1.clubpenguin.com” to the end of the hosts file.
- Press CTRL + X to exit the file, then press Y to save the file, then press enter to confirm the path to write to.
- Clear your cache and restart your browser to use the trainer.

Windows 7 definitely supports editing your hosts file. I recommend watching the video tutorial which shows you how to do it.
